1,252 cc · 122 hp
The Harley-Davidson Sportster S is a naked bike introduced in 2021 as an entirely new model replacing the traditional iron-engined Sportster line. Power comes from a 1252 cc Revolution Max 1250T liquid-cooled V-twin with four valves per cylinder, a radical departure from the air-cooled Evo engines of previous generations. The Sportster S features a low, forward-leaning riding position, a stylish blend of round forms and modern aesthetics, and rider aids via three riding modes (Sport, Road, Rain) with cornering ABS and traction control.
The Sportster S targets riders who want a modern, powerful Harley without the traditional touring orientation. The low seat height (755 mm) makes it accessible, but the sporty geometry rewards riding experience. The high-mounted engine and compact dimensions make its handling more dynamic than most Harley models. The Sportster S competes directly with the Ducati Monster and Indian FTR. A2 licence-restricting is available.
Check riding mode sensors and electronic rider aids for fault codes; early Sportster S units (2021–2022) had software faults addressed via dealer updates.
Inspect the exhaust for heat damage to the passenger footpeg and right fairing panel: the high-mount exhaust generates significant heat toward the right side.
Check the battery and charging system: the rich electronics package draws more from the electrical system on frequent short rides.
Note front tyre and wheel condition: the 19-inch front wheel has a narrower tyre selection than a standard 17-inch wheel.
Confirm any ECU software updates have been applied via a dealer; Harley regularly releases updates for the Revolution Max platform.
