About the Bmw F 800 GS
The BMW F 800 GS was BMW's middleweight enduro from 2008 to 2018. The 798 cc parallel twin with 360-degree firing interval was built by Rotax and produces around 85 hp and 83 Nm. A tubular steel frame, 21-inch spoked front wheel and nearly 230 mm of suspension travel made it more capable off-road than the boxer GS. From 2013 ABS became standard, with ASC and optional ESA.
The F 800 GS targets adventure riders who want genuine dirt ability without the bulk of an R 1200 GS. Wet weight is around 215 kg and seat height is 880 mm, so long inseams help; factory low seats are available. Direct rivals are the KTM 790/890 Adventure, the Triumph Tiger 800 and later the Yamaha Tenere 700. On the Dutch used market the F 800 GS sells well thanks to lower running costs than the boxer twins.
