About the Aprilia SL Falco
The Aprilia SL Falco (officially the SL 1000 Falco) is a sport-tourer produced by Aprilia from 2000 to 2004 as a counterpart to the fully faired RSV 1000 Mille. The foundation is identical: a liquid-cooled 60-degree V-twin of 998 cc producing 117 hp, mounted in an aluminium twin-spar frame. Unlike the RSV, the Falco wears a smaller half-fairing and adopts a more upright riding position, making it considerably more comfortable and touring-oriented in character. Wet weight of around 210 kg is substantial, but the V-twin compensates with a broad torque band from low revs. Production ended in 2004 with no direct successor.
The SL Falco targets riders who want litre V-twin performance combined with everyday usability. The stretched riding triangle and higher handlebar make the Falco easier to manage on longer journeys than the RSV Mille, without sacrificing the sporting pedigree of the shared platform.
