Later FX with the larger 7.2kWh Z-Force pack, more torque and more useful everyday range. The extra mass is limited, but charging history and battery condition remain decisive.
Years
2013 - 2016
Early FX with smaller Z-Force battery options and the lightest character. Check battery health particularly carefully, as age has a greater effect on range with these versions.
The Zero FX is a light electric supermoto with belt drive and instant torque. It was introduced as a compact, quiet counterpart to a 125- to 250cc supermoto and has been sold with several Z-Force battery-pack sizes. The FX excels in town, on short twisty roads and as a commuter where home charging is available; it is not a petrol-bike replacement for long motorway trips.
On a used FX, the battery matters more than mileage. Ask about the original battery pack, charging behaviour, software updates and any faults. The belt and simple drivetrain reduce routine maintenance, but suspension, bearings and brakes deserve the same attention as on a conventional supermoto. Always test ride to check range indication, regenerative braking and the charge port; a missing or damaged charger is costly to replace.
