Years
2018 - present
Since 2018 the YZ 65 has been Yamaha's 65cc junior motocrosser with a liquid-cooled two-stroke, YPVS power valve and six-speed gearbox. It is built for the track rather than public roads, so assess a used bike mainly by its service history, hours and suspension condition.
The Yamaha YZ-65 is a junior motocross bike powered by a 65cc two-stroke engine, introduced in 2018 as a successor to the YZ-80. Yamaha positioned the YZ-65 as a bridge between the YZ-50 and YZ-85, featuring modern technology including a hydraulic clutch and a 36 mm adjustable front fork. The engine is built for maximum circuit performance with a powervalve for better torque delivery across the rev range.
The YZ-65 targets young motocross riders aged 8 to 12 making the jump from beginner bikes to serious competition. The light weight and manageable power delivery make it approachable, but the two-stroke engine demands regular maintenance. It competes directly with the KTM 65 SX and Husqvarna TC 65.

A used Yamaha YZ 65 costs €5,499 on average. Most cost €3,609 to €5,499. This is based on 11 motorcycles for sale now.
