About the Yamaha Tmax SX
The Yamaha TMAX SX is the sporting variant of the TMAX 530, introduced in 2017 as the counterpart to the more touring-oriented TMAX DX. It is powered by a 530cc liquid-cooled parallel twin with DOHC, producing 46 hp through an automatic CVT transmission. Compared to the DX, the SX is more focused on rider enjoyment: lower windscreen, sportier suspension tuning and fewer accessories.
The TMAX SX targets riders who want the maxi-scooter experience combined with a sportier appearance and riding dynamics. It is suitable for daily commuting and weekend trips. The engine's power means an AM licence is insufficient, an A or A2 licence is required. The TMAX competes with the Honda Forza 750 and Suzuki Burgman 400. The SX variant was replaced by the TMAX 560 in 2020.
