GenerationThe 125cc Teos is the common city version with a four-stroke engine and automatic transmission. It suits calm daily transport rather than fast motorway mileage.
About the Yamaha Teos
The Yamaha Teos is a compact early-2000s city scooter, sold with 125 and 150cc four-stroke engines. It was designed for daily transport: a low step-through, automatic transmission, flat floor and useful weather protection. It is less sporty than a modern maxi-scooter, but simple and easy to use.
For a buyer, condition and maintenance matter more than mileage alone. Check that the CVT takes up drive smoothly, the battery charges and all bodywork fixings are present. Many Teos scooters have seen city use, so inspect brakes, fork seals and corrosion around the exhaust carefully. A tidy original machine with documented servicing is a practical choice for short trips and commuting.

What to check before buying
- Test from cold and check that the CVT engages without shuddering or slipping.
- Inspect fork seals, brake calipers and hoses for leaks and seizure from city use.
- Check the battery, starter relay and charging voltage; age and storage commonly cause electrical faults.
- Inspect every body panel and mounting point for cracks; original plastics are not always easy to find.
