About the Triumph Tiger 900
The Triumph Tiger 900 replaced the Tiger 800 in 2020, introducing a new T-plane 888 cc inline-three with an irregular 1-3-2 firing order that delivers more character and stronger low-end torque. Power is around 70 kW (95 hp). The engine sits in a new frame with Showa or Marzocchi suspension and Brembo Stylema brakes on higher trims. Available as GT (cast wheels, 19/17), Rally (spoked 21/17, longer travel) and a base Tiger 900 entry trim.
The Tiger 900 targets riders who want a mid-size adventure bike with a more sporting triple character than the BMW R 1250 GS boxer feel. Cross-shop with the KTM 890 Adventure, Yamaha Ténéré 700 and older V-Strom 1000. With 820-840 mm seat height and around 220 kg it stays manageable for average-height riders. Standard kit includes a TFT dashboard, riding modes, cruise control and LED lighting; Pro and Aragón trims add heated grips and a quickshifter.

What to check before buying
- Check whether the early-2020 throttle body sensor recall has been completed.
- Inspect the exhaust manifold gasket area; a hissing exhaust is an early warning sign.
- Ask about TFT and connectivity firmware updates; early software had bluetooth glitches.
- Assess chain and sprockets, especially on Rally versions used off-road.
- Test every electronic feature including heated grips, cornering ABS and cruise control on the test ride.
