About the Triumph TF 450 E
The Triumph TF 450-RC is the race-specification electric motocrosser from Triumph, launched in 2023 alongside the TF 250-E. It uses the same mid-drive concept as the 250-E but with a higher peak output approaching 50 kW (68 hp) and a larger 3.4 kWh battery capacity. The motorcycle is built for competition use with carbon fibre components and race-tuned WP suspension.
The TF 450-E targets the competitive motocross rider who wants to race electric at the highest level. The higher capacity and greater power compared to the 250-E extend riding range and increase acceleration in the upper segment. The swappable battery pack is also present on the 450-RC. It competes with the KTM Freeride E-XC and Stark Varg Enduro, but carries the Triumph brand and MXGP programme behind it.

What to check before buying
- Check the battery for charge cycle count and remaining capacity; the larger 3.4 kWh lithium-ion battery degrades after 500–800 intensive charge cycles.
- Inspect the WP suspension for correct settings and fluid levels; race suspension requires periodic rebuilds with competition use.
- Check carbon fibre components for hairline cracks and damage after crashes; CF parts are repair-intensive.
- Inspect the mid-drive motor bearing and drive components for wear under intensive use; the 450's higher torque output places greater loads on the drivetrain.
- Check the charging port and connectors for damage; the higher charge rate of the larger battery requires quality chargers.
