790 cc · 61 hp · 2 cyl.
The Triumph Bonneville T100 is the classic variant of the modern Bonneville family, first introduced in 2002 by the revived Triumph in Hinckley. The liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine (790 cc, later 865 cc and 900 cc in the most recent generation) delivers a relaxed but sufficient power output in an iconic retro package with chrome wire wheels, chromed engine casings and a timeless silhouette that honours the original 1959 design.
The T100 targets riders who want a stylish classic without the maintenance intensity of a genuine vintage example. The riding position is upright and comfortable, and the bike behaves predictably and accessibly for a wide audience. It competes with the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Honda CB650R Classic, and is particularly popular among riders who want to use their motorcycle as a daily means of transport.
Check the chrome wire wheels for loose nipples; spoke adjustment is essential at initial inspections after use.
Inspect the cooling system for leaks; on examples before 2012 the water pump and older coolant hoses are vulnerable.
Check the drive chain for wear; the chain requires regular lubrication on bikes used for long distances.
Watch chrome components for corrosion on bikes stored outside; the chrome layer corrodes quickly in a damp climate without a cover.
Check the battery on older generation examples (pre-2016); early Bonneville electronics draw enough standby current to flatten the battery.
