About SYM
SYM (Sanyang Motor) is a Taiwanese manufacturer of scooters and motorcycles, founded in 1954 in Taipei as a joint venture with Honda. After ending the Honda partnership in 1962, the company charted its own course. SYM is one of Asia's largest scooter producers and offers a wide range: the Joymax and HD series are popular city-tourer scooters, the Cruisym is a large touring scooter (300-600cc), and the Symphony and Fiddle are entry-level models for daily use. More recent additions include the ADX adventure scooter series and the electric BWT.
In the Netherlands, SYM has a reasonably broad dealer network via a national importer. The brand positions itself as an affordable Asian alternative to Yamaha and Honda in the scooter segment. The target audience consists of commuters and urban riders looking for a solid scooter without a premium price tag. Running costs are low, and parts are readily available through the Dutch importer. Second-hand SYM scooters are popular on used-vehicle platforms and hold their value well at the entry level.
