2025–heden Bear 650
GenerationThe Bear 650 is the scrambler delivered from 2025 on Royal Enfield’s 648 cc twin platform, with 35 kW/47 hp, 56 Nm, 19/17-inch wire wheels and a high-mounted 2-into-1 exhaust. It is not an Interceptor with only different tyres: chassis, wheels, exhaust and 830 mm seat differ. The 35 kW factory specification is A2-suitable; always check the registered version on an import.
About the Royal Enfield Bear 650
The Royal Enfield Bear 650 is the scrambler variant on the 648 cc parallel-twin platform, introduced for model-year 2025 as a tribute to Eddie Mulder's 1960 Big Bear Run win. The air/oil-cooled twin makes around 47 hp and 56 Nm here, slightly more torque than the Interceptor, paired with a high-mounted 2-into-1 exhaust. Showa USD forks up front, a Showa twin-shock rear with extra travel and 19/17-inch spoked wheels give it a mildly off-road bent.
The Bear 650 targets riders who want the Interceptor twin with more presence and rougher manners, think the Triumph Scrambler 900 audience looking for a cheaper alternative. The 830 mm seat height sits taller than other 650 siblings and the kerb weight is around 216 kg. On gravel and forest tracks it copes well at a relaxed pace, but its wheel sizes and tyres mean it isn't a serious adventure bike. Aim it at urban scrambler duty and weekend B-road rides.

What to check before buying
- Check the high-mount exhaust for scuffs and discoloration; unguarded scrambler exhausts pick up gravel damage.
- Inspect the USD forks for stone-chip damage and weeping oil; the stanchions are long and exposed.
- Test the electrics, in particular the Tripper pod; early 650 twins have shown intermittent electrical glitches.
- Check the spoked wheels for buckled or loose spokes after off-road use.
- Inspect paint quality on the tank and panels; finish is thinner than on Japanese rivals.
