Norton

Norton is one of the oldest and most iconic British motorcycle brands, founded in 1898 by James Lansdowne Norton in Birmingham. The brand built a legendary reputation through TT victories on the Isle of Man and models such as the Commando, Dominator and the Manx racer. After multiple insolvencies and ownership changes in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, Norton was relaunched in 2020 under Indian ownership (TVS Motor Company) and has since resumed producing high-quality motorcycles, including the Commando 961 and the V4CR.

In the Netherlands Norton is a prestige brand with a limited presence and high asking prices. Classic-era Nortons (1960s–1980s) are prized by collectors and appear at specialist classic motorcycle events. Post-2020 renaissance models are rare on the used market but attract riders seeking an exclusive British motorcycle with modern engineering. Maintenance is specialised and requires a technician familiar with the marque.
