Years2021–present
The RR SCS combines 140 hp and 87 Nm with the Rekluse Smart Clutch System function. It is heavier than earlier Dragsters and must be identified only with an explicit RR SCS designation.
798 cc · 140 hp · 3 cyl.
Years2021–present
The RC SCS is the limited, race-inspired version with 140 hp, SCS and specific carbon and electronic details. An optional race kit does not automatically make a road bike 148 hp; assign it only with an explicit RC SCS source value.
798 cc · 140 hp · 3 cyl.
Years2017–2020
The RR and RC family uses the 140 hp version of the 798cc triple and is distinctly sharper than the original 125 hp machine. RR or RC must be explicit; a generic Dragster 800 is not automatically given these values.
798 cc · 140 hp · 3 cyl.
Years2014–present
This reference row keeps Dragster 800 adverts usable when model year or trim is unclear. The name covers 125 and 140 hp versions; without an explicit RR, RC or SCS designation, no precise specification is forced.
798 cc · 3 cyl.
Years2014–2016
The early standard Dragster produces 125 hp and 81 Nm. It forms the basis of the family but is not the same as the later 140 hp RR and RC; use model year only when it is reliable.
798 cc · 125 hp · 3 cyl.
The MV Agusta Dragster 800 is the short, aggressive naked built around the 798cc triple with a counter-rotating crankshaft. The name has existed since 2014 but covers different output and equipment levels. An early Dragster 800 produces 125 hp; the RR and RC line uses 140 hp and 87 Nm. Recent RR SCS and RC SCS versions combine that engine with MV’s Smart Clutch System and additional electronics. An advert simply labelled ‘Dragster 800’ is therefore not a reliable basis for assigning 125 or 140 hp.
The Dragster is a compact, expressive sport naked for solo riding and short, fast routes. Its wide rear tyre, short tail and three exhaust outlets make it recognisable, but comfort and luggage take second place to appearance and throttle response. On a used bike, inspect service history, fault messages, charging health, quickshifter operation and evidence of stunting or a crash. RC and SCS are safe to assign only when they appear literally in the source or advert title.
Ask for documented service history and check cold start, idle and fault messages before taking a test ride.
Test the quickshifter and, on an SCS, automatic-clutch operation in slow traffic; both should work without warnings or jolts.
Inspect charging voltage, battery and cable connections. Electronic faults should be diagnosed rather than dismissed after a reset.
Check exhaust mounts, footrests, steering stops and rear wheel for crash or stunt damage; this short naked is often ridden hard.
Check tyre size and wear on the wide rear wheel, plus brake discs and chain set for sporty use.
