About the Ktm 125 Duke
The KTM 125 Duke is the A1 entry into the Duke family and since 2011 one of Europe's most popular 125 cc bikes. The four-stroke single with 124 cc produces a fixed 15 hp (11 kW), the legal A1/AM licence ceiling, and 12 Nm. The steel trellis frame, WP suspension, inverted fork and large disc brakes give it a presence and handling above its class. From 2017 it received ABS as standard, from 2024 a TFT display with Connectivity Unit and cornering ABS. Production happens at Bajaj in India.
The target rider is the young A1/B licence holder and the urban commuter who wants to look the part without big insurance premiums. At around 145 kg and an 822 mm seat, it is narrow enough for sneaking through traffic and heavy enough to hold around 110 km/h on motorways. The riding position is sport-upright and the clutch light. Direct rivals are the Yamaha MT-125, Honda CB125R, Aprilia Tuono 125 and Kawasaki Z125.

What to check before buying
- Verify the running-in procedure was followed; many 125 Dukes are thrashed from day one by young owners.
- Inspect the clutch plates for wear; young riders and stop-and-go use are hard on the clutch.
- Check the chain and sprockets; poor maintenance is the most common wear issue in this class.
- Test the electronics and odometer; older models suffer loose dashboard connectors.
- Confirm timely oil and filter changes every 7,500 km; missed services dramatically shorten engine life.
