About the Indian FTR Sport
The Indian FTR Sport is the mid-tier variant of the FTR lineup, introduced for the 2023 model year. The powertrain is the liquid-cooled 1203 cc V-twin producing 120 hp and 115 Nm of torque, the same configuration as other FTR variants. Over the base FTR, the Sport adds Brembo brake calipers, adjustable suspension, and sportier instrument detailing. The dynamics are therefore sharper than the base FTR but less extreme than the FTR R Carbon.
The FTR Sport targets riders who want the flat-track-inspired aesthetic with improved braking and dynamics without paying the flagship premium. Ergonomics are sporty-upright, consistent with the rest of the FTR family. Rivals include the Ducati Monster Plus, KTM 890 Duke R, and Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS.

What to check before buying
- Check the Brembo calipers for pad wear and leaks at the hydraulic unions.
- Inspect the adjustable suspension for correct setup; poorly configured damping can significantly degrade ride quality.
- Check the radiator for stone chips and coolant leaks; its exposed front position makes it vulnerable on motorways.
- Verify the TFT display and ride mode selection operate correctly; early units had intermittent electronics issues.
- Test the gearbox for notchy cold shifts; a known characteristic across the FTR platform.
