About the Honda XR 250
The Honda XR 250 is a long-running light enduro family built around an air-cooled four-stroke single. Early late-1970s machines were simple and basic; from 1984 the RFVC cylinder head improved breathing and output. Later XR250R versions gained a more modern chassis while retaining mechanical simplicity, low mass and genuine trail usefulness.
The XR250 suits riders who maintain their own machinery and do not need a heavy adventure bike. Power and brakes are modest on motorways, but control is excellent in woods, sand and technical sections. Many examples have been used hard, converted to supermoto form or sold without complete road equipment. Confirm model code and displacement carefully; the liquid-cooled NX250 Dominator is a different motorcycle and does not belong in this family.
