CL500 (2025-heden)
GenerationThe current CL500 retains the 471 cc A2 twin and six-speed manual gearbox, but for 2025 gained ergonomic changes to the seat and footpegs plus Euro 5+ homologation. Core specifications remain 35 kW, 43 Nm, a 790 mm seat, 12-litre tank and 192 kg kerb weight. Check accessories separately; they do not turn the standard bike into a different edition.
Years
2023 - 2024
CL500 (2023–2024)
GenerationThe first CL500 combines the 471 cc parallel twin with a high exhaust, 19-inch front wheel and relaxed scrambler posture. The engine produces 35 kW and 43.4 Nm through a six-speed manual gearbox. Seat height is 790 mm, the tank holds 12 litres and kerb weight is 192 kg. It is an A2-compatible road-focused scrambler, not a full off-road motorcycle.
About the Honda CL 500
The Honda CL500 is an A2-compatible scrambler with the 471 cc parallel twin, high-mounted exhaust, 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel. It arrived in 2023 and is not a wire-wheel off-roader: its standard wheels are cast aluminium. The 2025 update mainly changed ergonomics and emissions homologation; the engine remained a manual 35 kW twin.

What to check before buying
- Check the high-mounted exhaust for heat damage or knee contact marks; the pipe runs close to the right knee of the rider.
- Inspect spoke nipples for loosening; wire-spoke wheels require more frequent checks than cast wheels, especially with off-road use.
- Check riding mode settings for ABS in light off-road: standard ABS is non-defeatable on early models.
- Inspect the brake caliper for contamination on bikes that have seen significant dust and mud.
- Check the tank seal and grommet for cleaning neglect; minor lapses can cause staining on the painted frame sections.
