The CB450 K series is the classic 444cc DOHC twin with torsion-bar valve gear. Originality and correct parts matter more than outright performance.
The Honda CB450 is a classic Japanese parallel twin with a DOHC 444cc engine featuring torsion bar valve springs, which was technically remarkable for its era. The original CB450 (also known as the 'Black Bomber' or 'Dream') was produced from 1965 to 1974 and was at the time the most powerful Japanese production motorcycle. A later reintroduction as the CB450S ran from 1986 to 1988 with a more modern frame and carburettors. Power output is around 32 kW (44 hp).
The CB450 appeals to enthusiasts of classic Japanese motorcycles seeking a reliable, iconic machine for restoration or everyday use. It is sought-after as a collectable on the used market. In period it competed with the Triumph 500 Daytona and BSA A50.
