About the Harley Davidson Tri Glide
The Harley-Davidson Tri Glide Ultra is a three-wheeled trike built on the classic Electra Glide tourer platform, produced from 2009 onwards. Power comes from a V-twin engine, Twin Cam 103 (1690 cc) on earlier models or Milwaukee-Eight 107/114 (1745–1868 cc) on later ones. The two driven rear wheels connect via a solid rear axle with a differential, and a large trunk sits between the rear wheels for luggage.
The Tri Glide Ultra targets riders who want the Harley touring experience with the added stability of three wheels, particularly older riders, those with balance or mobility issues, or couples planning extended tours. The riding position is upright behind a full fairing. Key rivals are the Can-Am Spyder and Honda Gold Wing trike conversions. This is not an entry-level machine; its weight and width demand substantial riding experience.

What to check before buying
- Check the rear axle and differential for oil leaks and wear noises at higher mileages.
- Inspect the battery and charging system; the many electrical accessories (audio, lighting) put heavy demands on it.
- Check tyre pressure on all three wheels; the rear tyres wear unevenly if the vehicle is not kept level.
- Carefully inspect brake lines and fluid; the three-wheel system places higher demands on braking consistency.
- Check the windscreen and fairing for cracks and discolouration.
