2002–2006 Suzuki 644 Dual Sport
GenerationThe 644 Dual Sport uses Suzuki’s air/oil-cooled 644 cc Freewind single. It is CCM’s all-road/trail variant rather than the R30 supermoto; that distinct chassis role matters more than a cosmetic trim.
About the Ccm 644
The CCM 644 is the Dual Sport family from the small British manufacturer CCM, built around the air/oil-cooled 644 cc Suzuki single from the XF650 Freewind. It is a lightly constructed all-road machine with a five-speed gearbox, chain drive and much less bodywork than the Suzuki donor. The 644 is not the same model as the R30: that is the road-focused supermoto in its own model line.
Its appeal lies in direct single-cylinder character and straightforward mechanicals rather than touring comfort or modern finish. A good example suits a rider who values back roads, light unsealed use and doing maintenance personally. Before purchase, focus on the frame, wiring, carburettor, air/oil cooling and the source of consumable parts. CCM combined its own chassis and plastics with a Suzuki engine, so a complete machine with clear paperwork and viable parts support is far more valuable than a tidy-looking but unclear project.

What to check before buying
- Verify frame number, registration and year carefully: the 644 Dual Sport is often confused with the mechanically different R30.
- Start from cold and check carburettor response, airbox and inlet rubbers for air leaks or long storage.
- Inspect the oil cooler, lines and crankcases for leakage, and ask about oil and filter changes for the Suzuki single.
- Check steering-head bearings, swingarm bearings, rims and spokes for play or damage from unsealed-road use.
- Test charging voltage, lighting and switches; ask which CCM-specific plastic and chassis parts come with the motorcycle.
