The original Brinco family combines pedal drive with an electric rear drive. The 60 km/h figure belongs to the off-road configuration; verify each vehicle’s actual homologation rather than applying that figure to a C or S version.

About this model

About the Bultaco Brinco

The Bultaco Brinco was the electric ‘moto-bike’ with which the revived Bultaco returned in 2015. Its concept deliberately sits between a mountain bike and a lightweight motorcycle: pedals with gears, a twist grip and a removable lithium battery share one aluminium chassis. The original off-road version delivers up to 2 kW and is not a conventional moped or motorcycle; later C and S versions used different homologation and speed limits.

For a buyer, the legal version matters more than the Brinco name alone. Check the frame number, registration/homologation, the presence of pedal and electrical equipment, and the vehicle’s actual operating mode. The Brinco is light and playful on short rides and unmade surfaces, but battery health, charger condition and parts availability decide whether a used example makes sense. Bultaco halted production in 2018, so documentation and a complete, functioning system are particularly valuable.

Before you buy

What to check before buying

  • Inspect the battery housing, connectors and charger for damage, moisture traces and a normal full charging cycle.
  • Test every available riding mode and watch for cut-outs, fault messages, irregular power delivery or excessive battery drop.
  • Inspect the pedal drivetrain, chain, sprockets and shifting; the Brinco combines bicycle and motorcycle parts that both wear.
  • Check the frame number, registration and homologation label: R/R-E, C and S may have different permitted speeds and road status.
  • Inspect suspension, brake discs and battery/rear-motor mountings for play or damage from off-road use.
