Bultaco is a legendary Spanish motorcycle brand, founded in 1958 by Francisco Xavier Bultó near Barcelona. The company grew into one of Europe's most successful manufacturers of two-stroke racing and off-road motorcycles. Bultaco achieved numerous titles in trials, motocross and road racing, including world championship victories in trials with riders such as Martin Lampkin. Iconic models include the Metralla (sports roadster), the Sherpa T (trials bike) and the Pursang (motocross bike). The historic company closed its doors in 1983 following financial difficulties.
On the Dutch used market, Bultacos are collector's items that rarely appear on mainstream motorcycle platforms. They surface at specialist classic dealers, autojumbles and private collectors. Riders who buy a Bultaco are typically enthusiasts of Spanish two-stroke heritage. Spare parts are scarce but available through specialist importers and owner clubs. A well-maintained Bultaco represents considerable historical and sentimental value.
