The BMW F 850 GS Adventure is the long-range version of the F 850 GS, produced from 2019 through 2023. Its 853 cc parallel twin with a 270-degree crank makes 95 hp and drives the rear wheel by chain. A 23-litre tank, 21-inch spoked front wheel, extended protection and robust luggage options suit travel across tarmac and unsealed roads. The Euro 5 update from 2021 refined engine management and electronics without changing the concept.
It suits riders wanting more range and protection than the standard GS who accept the extra weight. The seat is tall, although alternative seats and factory lowering were available. Dynamic ESA, Riding Modes Pro and a quickshifter are useful options. It is less nimble than an enduro in technical terrain, but the broad tank pays off on long motorway journeys.

Inspect the chain, sprockets and guide for uneven wear because the Adventure's extra weight loads the drivetrain.
Check the water pump and coolant hoses for dried coolant traces or leakage.
Check steering-head bearings for a centre notch and spoked wheels for loose spokes or dents after off-road use.
Confirm brake-caliper and other BMW service actions were completed and test Dynamic ESA and every riding mode.
