About the Aprilia Tuono V4
The Aprilia Tuono V4 is the hyper-naked sibling of the RSV4 superbike, launched in 2011 as the successor to the V-twin Tuono. It runs the same 65-degree V4 engine: initially 999 cc and later enlarged to 1077 cc for the 1100 model. The current Tuono V4 1100 delivers 175 to 180 hp and weighs roughly 209 kg wet. A twin-spar aluminium frame, semi-active Ohlins suspension on the Factory and a comprehensive IMU-driven electronics pack (traction, wheelie and brake control) are part of the standard kit.
The Tuono V4 targets experienced riders who want superbike performance with an upright posture. It shines on fast, twisty roads and on track, but a reasonable seat and a small fairing make longer rides feasible. Rivals include the Ducati Streetfighter V4, KTM 1290 Super Duke R, BMW S 1000 R and the Yamaha MT-10 SP. Not a beginner choice: the throttle is sharp and pricing sits at the premium end of the segment.
