About the Aprilia Shiver 750
The Aprilia Shiver 750 launched in 2007 as Aprilia's first in-house middleweight naked, powered by a Piaggio-developed 749.9cc 90-degree V-twin. With 95 hp and a ride-by-wire throttle, the Shiver was technically advanced for its time: it was one of the first production motorcycles with full electronic throttle control and three riding modes. The steel-tube trellis frame paired with an aluminium rear subframe gives the bike an unmistakably Italian look. Aprilia produced the Shiver 750 until 2017, after which it was replaced by the larger-bore Shiver 900.
The Shiver 750 targets riders seeking a characterful middleweight without the extremes of a sport-naked. The seating position is upright and roomy, the seat is relatively low at 810 mm and the V-twin is pleasantly torquey in the mid-range. That makes it suitable for commuting, twisty weekend rides and as a first big bike for slightly more experienced riders. Competitors include the Suzuki SV650, Yamaha MT-07 and Kawasaki ER-6n.
