Years
2004 - 2006
MX 125 open / RAVE
EditionThe 2004–2006 full-power MX 125 uses the Rotax 122 with electronic RAVE exhaust-valve control. The factory reference for this configuration is 18 kW/24 hp at 10,500 rpm. RAVE hardware or an unrestricted exhaust does not automatically make an individual motorcycle legal for every registration or licence category; verify documents and configuration.
Years
2004 - 2006
MX 125 11 kW
EditionThe 2004–2006 MX 125 11 kW is the restricted homologation version with a Rotax 122 single-cylinder two-stroke. The 11 kW/15 hp value is the right search reference for this variant. Verify the registration and actual restriction; a full-power MX 125 has a different power specification.
About the Aprilia MX 125
The Aprilia MX 125 is a lightweight road-legal 2004–2006 supermoto with a 124.82 cc liquid-cooled Rotax 122 single-cylinder two-stroke, six-speed gearbox and chain final drive. It is a distinct MX 125 model, not an MX 50, MX 250, RX or RS.
Both 11 kW and full-power 18 kW configurations exist. Always check registration, type approval and the actual RAVE exhaust-valve setup before adopting power figures, licence requirements or parts. Correct two-stroke lubrication, cooling, RAVE service and documented maintenance are decisive on a used example.

What to check before buying
- Confirm the exact MX 125 configuration: the 11 kW and full-power 18 kW versions have different power and homologation data.
- Inspect the RAVE exhaust-valve control, cables and mechanism for operation and service; this matters on the open Rotax 122 configuration.
- Inspect coolant, radiator, hoses and water pump for leaks or overdue maintenance.
- Check the separate two-stroke lubrication and correct two-stroke oil; do not confuse this with oil for the wet clutch and six-speed gearbox.
- Inspect the chain, sprockets, clutch, 320 mm front disc, 220 mm rear disc and 17-inch tyres.
