About the Zero DSR/X
The Zero DSR/X is an electric adventure motorcycle from American brand Zero Motorcycles, introduced in 2023. Its permanent-magnet synchronous motor delivers 100 hp and 190 Nm of torque through a carbon belt drive. The 17.3 kWh ZF battery provides approximately 180 km of city range or 130 km on the highway. The DSR/X is Zero's first fully off-road-capable electric motorcycle, combining a high specification level with Bosch off-road ABS and Showa suspension.
The DSR/X targets adventure riders who want full electric mobility without sacrificing off-road capability. At 890 mm seat height and 225 kg, it is comparable to mid-class combustion adventure bikes. Typical use is mixed urban, highway, and light trail riding. It competes with the Energica Experia and, indirectly, the BMW F 850 GS in terms of weight and power.

What to check before buying
- Check DC fast-charging availability: Level 2 AC charging takes around 4 hours for a full charge; the DC fast-charge option is a paid add-on and essential for touring.
- Inspect battery thermal management: in extreme cold, range drops noticeably; check BMS diagnostics via the Zero app.
- Inspect the Showa fork for leaks and damping accuracy; highly regarded but requires servicing after intensive off-road use.
- Verify the software version; early DSR/X examples had traction-control calibration issues in mud that were resolved via OTA updates.
