The XVS1300 Midnight Star combines a 1,304cc air-cooled V-twin with shaft drive and long cruiser wheelbase. It is comfortable and torquey; check shaft oil, chrome and tyre age.
The Yamaha XVS 1300 Midnight Star is a large V-twin cruiser launched as the flagship of the V-Star family in 2007. Its air-cooled 1304 cc V-twin with a 60-degree cylinder angle produces 73 hp and generous torque available from low in the rev range. The design combines flowing lines, extensive chrome, and a low riding profile clearly aimed at the Harley-Davidson cruiser aesthetic. Production ran until approximately 2013.
The Midnight Star targets riders who want the feel of a large American-style cruiser with Japanese reliability at a lower price point. At nearly 300 kg, it demands some riding experience. Typical use is relaxed long-distance touring. It competes with the Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 and Honda VTX 1300.
