About this model

About the Yamaha TT 350

The Yamaha TT 350 is an air-cooled four-stroke enduro from the 1980s, based on the XT 350 but intended for off-road use. It has a relatively simple single-cylinder engine, long suspension travel and little unnecessary equipment. That makes it attractive for riders wanting a light classic for trails and gravel roads where local rules allow.

At purchase, engine and chassis condition matter more than cosmetics. Check cold starting, cam-chain noise, carburetion and swingarm-bearing condition. Many have seen off-road use and may hide play, bent rims or frame damage. Parts availability is reasonable thanks to its XT relationship, but an original, unmolested bike remains the best starting point.

Before you buy

What to check before buying

  • Start the engine cold and listen for cam-chain and valve noise; poor servicing is audible on this engine.
  • Inspect carburettor, intake rubber and tank for contamination or leaks after storage.
  • Check steering-head, wheel and swingarm bearings for play from off-road use.
  • Inspect frame, rims and lower engine cases for cracks, dents and poor repairs.
