About the Vespa Primavera ET3
The Vespa Primavera ET3 is the sportier 125cc small-frame from the 1970s, recognisable by electronic ignition and its characteristic exhaust arrangement. RDW references list 121cc, 5 kW, 7 hp and 93 kg from 1977. Verify frame prefix and engine code carefully: an ordinary Primavera with later-fitted parts is not an original ET3.
The ET3 is desirable as a light classic Vespa and therefore needs extra attention to originality. Buy on a healthy frame, correct engine and ignition parts and working hand shift. Restorations vary hugely in quality; check bodywork, numbers, welds and parts against the year.

What to check before buying
- Check frame prefix, frame number and engine code to distinguish an original Primavera ET3 from a converted Primavera.
- Inspect floor, tunnel, inner wings and welds for rust, filler and old damage.
- Test shift cables, clutch and gearbox for smooth engagement; check electronic ignition and correct exhaust arrangement.
- Check carburettor, crank seals, brakes, rims, tyres and electrical system for correct parts and safe operation.
