About the Vespa 150 GTR
The Vespa 150 GTR is a late classic largeframe Vespa from the 1960s and early 1970s. It combines steel monocoque construction, manual shifting and an air-cooled 150cc two-stroke with slightly sportier finish than ordinary 150 models. The GTR is a usable oldtimer for relaxed rides, but real quality is determined by bodywork, engine condition and originality.
On a 150 GTR, rust inspection is always the first step. Check floor, tunnel and underside carefully, then test every gear, brakes and warm engine running. The correct exhaust, carburettor and complete controls matter to a pleasant riding experience. Prefer an honest complete scooter with history over a quickly restored example with unknown bodywork or engine damage.

What to check before buying
- Inspect floor, tunnel, underside and mudguards for rust, filler and old poor repairs.
- Check engine compression, carburettor, fuel tap and oil supply for leaks and stable warm running.
- Test every gear, cables and clutch for light operation and correct adjustment.
- Check brakes, tyres, rims and fork for age and safe operation.
- Match frame number and type plate to documents and look for complete GTR-specific parts.
