About the Triumph TF 250 E
The Triumph TF 250-E is an electric motocrosser from British brand Triumph, launched in 2023. It features a permanent-magnet mid-drive motor and a swappable 50V lithium-ion battery of 2.8 kWh capacity. Developed in collaboration with the Triumph MXGP racing team, it delivers a peak output of 40 kW (54 hp). Top speed exceeds 100 km/h and riding range in race conditions is approximately 35–50 minutes per charge.
The TF 250-E targets serious motocross riders making the transition to electric. The silent powertrain and immediate electric torque create a different experience compared to a combustion engine, but peak performance is competitive. The swappable battery pack makes running multiple packs a viable option for longer training days. It competes with the KTM Freeride E-XC and Stark Varg.

What to check before buying
- Check the battery for charge cycle count and remaining capacity; lithium-ion batteries degrade noticeably after 500–800 cycles.
- Inspect the waterproofing of the battery and motor compartment after use in muddy or wet conditions.
- Check the motor controller software version; Triumph has issued updates that affect riding modes and power delivery.
- Inspect the mid-drive motor bearing and drive components for wear after intensive use on hard ground.
- Check the charging port and connectors for damage and corrosion on bikes stored outdoors.
