About the Triumph Legend TT
The Triumph Legend TT is a classic cruiser built around Triumph's air-cooled three-cylinder 885 cc engine. Introduced in 1998 as the more style-conscious, retro-oriented sibling of the Thunderbird, the Legend TT featured a lower seat height, wider bars and classic British styling with chrome details. The engine produced 69 hp, giving the Legend TT a smooth, relaxed character well-suited to laid-back cruiser riding.
The Legend TT appeals to riders who value British heritage and prefer relaxed touring. The three-cylinder engine offers a distinctive sound and feel compared to Japanese V-twin cruisers. The seat is low and the ergonomics are comfortable for longer rides. It competed with the Honda VT600 Shadow, Kawasaki VN800 and Yamaha Virago 750. Production ended in 2001.

What to check before buying
- Check the cylinder head area for oil leaks; the air-cooled triple is known for this at higher mileages.
- Inspect all three carburettors for synchronisation and blockages; imbalance causes rough idling and power loss.
- Check the wiring and electrical connections for corrosion and loose contacts; British motorcycles of this era are prone to electrical gremlins.
- Examine chrome components for rust and pitting; restoration is expensive and parts availability is declining.
- Check the clutch cable and plates for wear; the triple's clutch requires regular adjustment.
