Years
1993 - 1997
The 1993–1997 Daytona 1200 is Triumph's large 1,180 cc four-cylinder sport motorcycle from the early Hinckley era. Check carburettors, charging and cooling systems, chain set and brakes, plus fairings, frame and steering stops for damage; age and documented maintenance are decisive.
The Triumph Daytona 1200 is a British sport motorcycle powered by a 1180 cc DOHC inline-four engine, produced from 1993 to 1997. The Daytona 1200 was the sporty, fully-faired variant of the Triumph Trophy 1200 and formed part of the Triumph revival under John Bloor. With 147 hp it was powerful for its era and the Daytona was capable of competing with Japanese sport bikes of the early 1990s.
The Daytona 1200 appeals to fans of the 1990s New Triumph and sport riders who appreciate a British alternative to Japanese superbikes. At 238 kg with full fairing it demands experience. It was succeeded by the Daytona T595/955i in 1997. Period contemporaries include the Honda CBR1000F, Yamaha FJ1200, and Kawasaki ZZR1100.
