About the Suzuki GT 200
The Suzuki GT200 is a lightweight classic two-stroke geared motorcycle, separate from the GT185 and GT250. The European 1979–1980 GT200 E/X5E uses an air-cooled parallel twin of around 196cc, a five-speed gearbox and chain final drive. The model code, twin-cylinder engine and 18-inch wheels help identify it correctly among Suzuki's other small GT models.

What to check before buying
- Check compression and response from both cylinders; uneven running can point to ignition, carburettor or crankshaft problems.
- Inspect the oil-injection system, oil lines and any premix conversions carefully before extended riding.
- Check the tank, fuel tap and both carburettors for rust, contamination and leaks after storage.
- Test the front disc and rear drum brake, and inspect brake parts, cables and electrical connections for corrosion.
