GenerationThis technical reference row for the GS 25 combines the available catalogue data: 249 cc, 20 kW, 27 hp, 160 kg. It describes the model reference, but does not necessarily distinguish every production or equipment change. Always verify model year, trim and technical values against the individual motorcycle.
About the Suzuki GS 25
In this historic catalogue, the Suzuki GS25 label refers to the GS25X engine code used by the 1980–1981 Suzuki GSX250/GSX250E, not to a separate 25cc or GS model range. It is an air-cooled 249cc parallel twin with DOHC four-valve cylinder heads, six speeds and chain drive. The GS25X code and model years are decisive; later GSX250Es with GJ53B code and other small GS models are outside this profile.

What to check before buying
- Check both carburettors, intake rubbers and fuel tap for leaks, contamination and uneven idle.
- Check valve clearances, cam-chain noise and cold starting; a rattly top end or poor compression warrants closer inspection.
- Inspect the front disc, rear drum, brake lines and master cylinder for seizure or corrosion.
- Check chain and sprockets, along with the wiring loom and charging voltage, for deferred maintenance on a long-stored classic.
