GenerationThe classic DR125S is the air-cooled trail version with a large front wheel and simple mechanics. It is best for relaxed road use and light unpaved tracks.
About the Suzuki DR 125
The Suzuki DR125 is a light, air-cooled single sold in several road and dual-sport forms. The early DR125S is a simple trail bike, while later SM versions are more clearly aimed at tarmac and city use. Shared strengths are low fuel use, approachable mechanics and a weight that does not intimidate new riders. It is not a fast motorway motorcycle, but it is a practical 125 with long-travel suspension and a tall riding position.
The DR125 suits A1 riders, short commutes and anyone learning at a measured pace. Confirm the exact year and version when buying: supermoto wheels, lighting and brakes differ. A complete bike with original intake, a quiet exhaust and documented servicing is preferable to a heavily modified one. Also make sure the registration and stated engine capacity agree.

What to check before buying
- Check cold starting and idle; stale fuel or a dirty carburettor often causes problems.
- Check valve-clearance history and listen for unusual mechanical noise.
- Inspect fork seals and linkage bearings for play.
- Test charging, lights and switches for corrosion.
- Check frame, rims and steering stops for crash damage.
