The MV Agusta 175 is an Italian 175 cc four-stroke single-cylinder motorcycle, introduced in 1953 in response to demand for a larger and sportier alternative to the 125 TEL. The model came in several versions, from the touring Turismo to the celebrated CSS Sport with its elegant alloy fairing and the legendary Squalo racing version. MV Agusta also built highly successful 175 cc racers during this period, winning world championships.
The MV Agusta 175 appeals to collectors of early Italian sports lightweights from the 1950s, particularly the CSS and Squalo variants which are regarded as rolling works of art. Touring examples are more accessible; racing variants are extremely rare and valuable. On the collector market it competes with the Ducati 175 Sport and Morini Settebello of the same period.
