2019 - present
2019–heden Ninja H2
GenerationThe 2019 update takes the street H2 to 170 kW/231 hp and 142 Nm. This is the correct generation for the more powerful later H2 and H2 Carbon trims; a Carbon has carbon fairing parts, not the H2R’s track engine. Always compare registration year and actual model designation on imported motorcycles.
Years
2015 - 2018
2015–2018 Ninja H2
GenerationThe first road-legal Ninja H2 uses the 998 cc supercharged inline-four with 147 kW/200 hp. Its mirror-finish fairing and in-house supercharger belong to this H2, while the H2R is a separate, non-road-legal machine. Carbon fairing parts may appear but do not change the engine generation.
About the Kawasaki Ninja H2
The Kawasaki Ninja H2 is the road-legal, mechanically supercharged 998 cc hypersport introduced in 2015. It must not be merged with the track-only H2R, sport-touring H2 SX or naked Z H2: they use related supercharger technology but are different models. The first street H2 made 147 kW/200 hp; from 2019 output rose to 170 kW/231 hp with different engine and electronic calibration.
For buyers, model year and exact H2 version are essential. The 2019+ engine is not merely a Carbon colour package; it has demonstrably higher output and a different torque peak. An H2 Carbon is a street H2 with carbon fairing parts, not an H2R. Check complete service history, supercharger/intake-related modifications, operation of all electronic rider aids and possible crash damage to the large fairing panels before treating low mileage as proof of quality.

What to check before buying
- Check the service history for compliance with Kawasaki supercharger inspections; the compressor belt drive has a prescribed replacement interval.
- Scan the electronic rider aids for fault codes via OBD; a failed IMU or ABS sensor is costly to rectify.
- Check the brakes (radial monoblock callipers) for pad and disc condition; the braking forces are immense and wear components quickly under hard use.
- Examine the condition of the fairing winglets; damaged or non-original aero parts affect high-speed stability.
- Monitor coolant temperature during a test ride; the supercharger adds extra heat and overheating causes serious engine damage.
