About the Kawasaki 125 KS
The Kawasaki 125 KS is a lightweight two-stroke trail bike that reached the European market in 1974 as successor to the F6. The KS/KE family continued in several forms into the 1980s. The early KS 125 combines an air-cooled 125cc single with rotary-valve induction, six gears and a simple enduro layout.
For collectors and leisure riders, the KS is appealing for its low weight and classic two-stroke character. Buy on originality and mechanical condition: exact K, KE or KH version and year must be established from frame number and type plate. Use those details for parts too, because equipment changed within the series.

What to check before buying
- Check frame number, engine code and type plate to distinguish KS, KE, KH and year; do not order parts only as ‘KS 125’.
- Inspect tank, fuel tap, carburettor and rotary-valve/oil system for leaks, corrosion and clean cold starting.
- Check cylinder, exhaust, air filter and ignition for correct two-stroke operation; measure compression and listen for crank or bearing noise.
- Inspect six-speed gearbox/clutch, chain, drum brakes, wheel/steering-head bearings, fork and rear shocks for wear or play.
