About the Husqvarna WRE 125
The Husqvarna WRE 125 is the road-legal trail version of Husqvarna's two-stroke family, with lighting, registration equipment and softer tuning than the CR. Its liquid-cooled 124 cc single, six speeds and low mass make it lively on local roads and gentle trails. Many examples were restricted for A1 registration or later derestricted, so output, exhaust and carburation must be assessed alongside the documents. Sustained motorway riding does not suit its character.
Check VIN, engine code, registered output and the presence of homologation parts. Ask about operating hours, premix or oil pump, piston intervals, crank bearings, power valve, coolant and gearbox oil. Start cold and listen for bearing noise, checking smoke pattern, compression and hot restarting. Inspect airbox for dust, radiators, expansion chamber and cases for impacts, and frame and subframe for cracks. Check fork seals, rear shock, linkage, steering head, swingarm, rims and spokes. A derestricted exhaust needs correct jetting; a lean setup can cause serious engine damage. Original exhaust and ECU or CDI are valuable.
