About the Honda SL 125
The Honda SL 125 is a lightweight classic trail bike from the early 1970s. Its air-cooled 122 cc single, high exhaust and simple chassis make it appealing for quiet lanes and light unpaved tracks. Do not expect modern off-road performance: power is modest, brakes are period-correct and value lies chiefly in complete originality.
A good SL 125 suits a first-time classic owner or anyone seeking a light, approachable machine. Check that the engine starts correctly, the gearbox does not jump out of gear under load and the exhaust has not been replaced by an unsuitable universal item. Original mudguards, side panels and instruments are hard to source and can turn a cheap bike into an expensive project. At every viewing, allow time for a cold start, a test ride and a check of all documentation.
