About the Honda CRM 250
The Honda CRM 250 is a light 1990s two-stroke enduro, most commonly the AR version with a liquid-cooled 249cc single and aluminium perimeter frame. It is intended for technical off-road riding and short road connections rather than comfortable long-distance use. Low weight and lively power delivery appeal to experienced trail riders, but a healthy CRM needs precise maintenance.
When buying, originality and mechanical condition matter more than fresh cosmetics. Check cylinder, piston, power valve and expansion chamber for use marks, and confirm that oil injection still works correctly. Many CRMs are imports, so verify frame code, build year and parts availability. A motorcycle that starts cleanly, stays cool and has no crankshaft or gearbox noises is a much better foundation than a cheap enduro with unknown rebuild history.

What to check before buying
- Check cylinder, piston and crankshaft for rebuild history; smoke, knock or poor starting can indicate wear.
- Check the RC/power valve for free movement and correct assembly; seizure changes the engine character dramatically.
- Test oil injection, cooling circuit and water pump for leaks or air in the system.
- Inspect frame, subframe, rims and linkage for off-road damage and seized bearings.
