About the Honda CRF 250 Rally
The Honda CRF 250 Rally is a lightweight adventure bike based on the CRF 250 L, introduced in 2017. Its water-cooled SOHC single-cylinder 249 cc engine produces 24 hp, tuned for low-to-mid-range torque across mixed on- and off-road surfaces. The design is inspired by Honda's Dakar rally racers and pairs long suspension travel with an upright, ergonomic riding position.
The CRF 250 Rally is ideal for A2-licence holders and entry-level adventurers who want to mix light off-road trails with daily commuting. At around 157 kg wet, it is easy to handle and manoeuvre. Direct rivals include the Royal Enfield Himalayan and Kawasaki KLX 300. The bike remains in production and is widely available across Asia and Europe.

What to check before buying
- Check the windscreen bracket for cracks; the plastic mount breaks easily in a tip-over and genuine replacement parts are relatively expensive.
- Inspect the drive chain and sprockets for wear; the stock chain is of modest quality and needs frequent replacement with off-road use.
- Check the exhaust at the header flange for rust; condensation trapped under the heat shield accelerates corrosion.
- Check the ABS system (where fitted) for fault codes; dirt in the wheel speed sensor causes issues in muddy terrain.
