About the Honda CM 125
The Honda CM 125 is a light classic custom with a 124cc twin, low seat and simple, dependable engineering. In European specification, the CM 125 was mainly sold as an approachable entry-level motorcycle: less overtly cruiser-like than a larger Rebel, but with relaxed ergonomics and a slim twin-cylinder appearance.
The CM 125 suits new riders and calm everyday trips. Buy it not for top speed, but for condition and maintenance. Its mechanics are straightforward, while carburettors, rust and aged electrical connections deserve most attention on an older 125. A complete motorcycle with a tidy exhaust, original airbox and documented servicing is normally the safest choice; heavily modified customs are harder to return to a reliable base.

What to check before buying
- Check both cylinders from cold, carburettors and intake rubbers for an even idle.
- Inspect tank, exhaust, frame and chrome parts for rust, especially after outdoor storage.
- Check chain, sprockets and rear wheel for wear, play and correct alignment.
- Test battery, charging voltage, lighting and switches, and inspect steering-head wiring.
- Check brakes, tyres and fork seals for age-related condition even at low mileage.
