The Ducati Hypermotard 821 is a supermoto-inspired naked bike powered by an air-cooled Testastretta 11° L-twin of 821 cc, produced from 2013 to 2015. Producing 110 hp with a dry weight of around 169 kg, the 821 is one of the lightest and most playful Hypermotards Ducati has built. It is a direct evolution of the 796 and was succeeded by the 939. An SP version with Öhlins suspension and Marchesini wheels was also available.
The Hypermotard 821 suits experienced riders who want maximum road feel in a light, compact package. The high riding position and nimble geometry make it ideal for city riding and twisty back roads. Not suitable for long touring rides or beginners. It competes with the KTM 690 Duke and Husqvarna SM 701. The SP version is particularly sought after for its premium suspension setup.
