C 650 Sport (2016-2020)
GenerationThe C 650 Sport is the more sportily styled 647 cc twin-cylinder maxi-scooter, introduced as successor to the C 600 Sport. It is more compact and sharper than the GT while retaining the same strong drivetrain; inspect CVT belt and roller service, brakes and electrical functions.
About the Bmw C 650 Sport
The BMW C 650 Sport is a large maxi-scooter powered by a 647 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with an automatic variator. BMW launched the C 650 Sport in 2012 as a more sporty alternative to the touring-oriented C 650 GT: lower suspension, larger disc brakes, a sportier twin rear shock setup and a more aggressive appearance. At 60 hp and 242 kg kerb weight, it delivers strong urban performance and is comfortable on motorways. The model received an update in 2019 with a Euro 4 engine.
The C 650 Sport suits A2 or full A-licensed riders who commute daily in and around the city but also want motorway capability. The sporty ergonomics are less upright than standard maxi-scooters, with higher footpegs. Main rivals are the Yamaha TMax 560, Honda Integra 750 and Kymco AK 550. BMW's automatic stability control (ASC) and optional ABS are standard on later models.

What to check before buying
- Check the CVT belt and variator rollers for wear: the large single-cylinder engine's higher weight accelerates belt wear compared to smaller scooters.
- Inspect the water pump and cooling hoses for leaks; maxi-scooters with high city mileage show premature wear here.
- Check the ASC sensor for fault codes on bikes ridden in rain and salt; wheel speed sensor corrosion is a known issue.
- Ask for dealer service history: the specialised design requires BMW-specific tools and knowledge.
- Inspect the underbelly plastic panel for damage: large maxi-scooters frequently scrape the floor panel on speed bumps and dropped kerbs.
