Years
1989 - 1990
1989–1990 YB6 Tuatara
EditionThe rare YB6 Tuatara with its own model designation and 989cc Yamaha FZR1000 basis. Keep it separate from both the 1,002cc EXUP and later-named YB models; verify identification plates and original specification.
Years
1989 - 1990
1989–1990 YB6 EXUP
EditionThe YB6 EXUP with the 1,002cc Yamaha FZR1000 EXUP inline four. Use this edition only with an explicit EXUP designation; a generic YB6 or Tuatara does not automatically belong here.
Years
1988 - 1990
1988–1990 YB6 (FZR1000)
GenerationThe original YB6 with the 989cc Yamaha FZR1000 Genesis inline four. This is the base YB6 configuration, not the later 1,002cc EXUP and not the Tuatara.
About the Bimota YB 6
The Bimota YB6 is Bimota's Yamaha-powered sports line of 1988–1990. The original YB6 uses the 989cc Yamaha FZR1000 Genesis inline four; in 1989 Bimota added the YB6 EXUP with the 1,002cc FZR1000 EXUP engine and the exclusive YB6 Tuatara. Those names are technically important: the EXUP has a different 1,002cc basis, while the Tuatara is its own 989cc version. Keep YB6, YB8, YB10 and YB11 strictly separate: they use different model names, production periods and Yamaha donor bases. On every classic Bimota, verify original frame, engine and documentary numbers before identifying its trim or parts.
