The original, very small HB1 series on Honda CB750 Four basis. Treat this row as an authenticity anchor: specification and parts can differ between hand-built machines.
The Bimota HB1 is Bimota's first motorcycle: Massimo Tamburini built its stiffer, lighter chassis around the Honda CB750 Four after a circuit crash. HB1 appeared in 1973, used the 736 cc air-cooled Honda inline-four and was built only as a handful of complete machines/kits. It is therefore not a CB900F derivative; do not confuse it with later Honda-powered Bimotas.
An HB1 is above all a historic constructor object. Buy only on provable identity, documentation and original chassis parts. The Honda CB750 engine is more familiar than the Bimota frame, tank, swingarm and bodywork; those very components determine authenticity and value.
